It stars Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal in lead roles. The story follows Rahul, a young man who falls in love with Anu, an orphan trapped in a strict hostel, and their struggle to be together against family, society, and personal pride. The film is notable for its soundtrack by Nadeem-Shravan, which sold 20 million units, making it the best-selling Bollywood album of all time. It won four Filmfare Awards for music.
