Storyline

Subbaiah Pillai is a middle-class father who challenges his cruel landlord by promising to build his own house in three months. As he struggles to raise money for construction, his children — a dancer son, a jobless younger son, and two daughters in love — each choose their own paths and refuse to help. His wife Lakshmi stands by him, but tragedy strikes when she falls ill and dies. Subbaiah Pillai must decide whether his dream home is worth the loss of his family.

A house is not a home without family.
