Enga Ooru Pattukaran is a 1987 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by Gangai Amaran. The film stars Ramarajan, Rekha, and Nishanthi in lead roles, with Senthamarai, Vinu Chakravarthy, Senthil, and Kovai Sarala in supporting roles. The story follows Seethan, a poor milkman with a beautiful singing voice, who falls in love with Shenbagam, the daughter of a wealthy landlord. Their love is thwarted by class differences and Shenbagam's father's refusal to accept a poor son-in-law. The film was released on 14 April 1987 and became a major commercial success. It is notable for launching the successful actor-director-music composer collaboration of Ramarajan, Gangai Amaran, and Ilaiyaraaja, who went on to make several hit films together. Storyline
Seethan is a poor milkman who sings beautifully. He falls in love with Shenbagam, the rich landlord's daughter. Their love is secret and pure. But Shenbagam's father forces her to marry a wealthy man. Shenbagam chooses death over a loveless marriage. Seethan is left broken. He marries Kaveri but cannot forget his first love. Can he learn to love again?
