Oorum Uravum(1982)
Oorum Uravum is a 1982 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Major Sundarrajan. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan as Manikkam, alongside K. R. Vijaya, A. V. M. Rajan, Nizhalgal Ravi, and Thengai Srinivasan. It is a remake of the Telugu film Oorukichina Maata. The story follows a poor farmer who sacrifices everything to make his younger brother a doctor, only to have the brother abandon their village for a wealthy city life. The film explores themes of family duty, gratitude, and the clash between rural and urban values. Critics praised the performances of the cast, particularly Sivaji Ganesan's emotional portrayal. The music by Shankar–Ganesh was well received. The film was released on 14 November 1982.

Storyline
A poor farmer named Manikkam works day and night to put his younger brother through medical school. He dreams that his brother will return to serve their village. But after becoming a doctor, the brother falls in love with a rich colleague and moves to the city, forgetting his family. Manikkam must find a way to bring his brother back to his senses and back home.
