• Sripriya was just 16 when she first acted opposite Vijayakumar in 'Murugan Kattiya Vazhi' (1974). He was already a established hero. The age gap was a big talking point on set — she later said he treated her like a younger sister, which made the romantic scenes awkward for both of them.
• Vijayakumar was known for his loud, theatrical style. Sripriya pulled him back. In 'Mogam Muppadhu Varusham' (1976), she insisted they rehearse scenes quietly before shooting. That film became a hit, and directors started pairing them specifically because she grounded his energy.
• Their 1978 film 'En Kelvikku Enna Bathil' was the first Tamil movie to have a female protagonist who openly rejects the hero's proposal and walks away. That ending was Sripriya's idea — she convinced Vijayakumar to back her, and the director changed the climax overnight.
• After 'Oorum Uravum' (1982), they never worked together again. No fight, no fallout. Vijayakumar simply stopped getting lead roles, and Sripriya moved to Malayalam cinema. But in a 2019 interview, she said they still call each other every Deepavali — without fail.
