Agathiyar is a 1972 Indian Tamil-language Hindu mythological film written, directed, and produced by A. P. Nagarajan. The cast includes Sirkazhi Govindarajan as Agathiyar, T. R. Mahalingam as Narathar, A. V. M. Rajan as Lord Shiva, and Kumari Padmini as Goddess Parvati. A young Sridevi appears as Lord Murugan. The story follows Sage Agathiyar as he balances the Earth and spreads the Tamil language. The soundtrack was composed by Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan. The film ran for 100 days in theatres and received positive reviews.

Storyline
Sage Agathiyar is given a mission by Lord Shiva. He must balance the Earth by going south. He also has to spread goodness and the Tamil language. Along the way, he faces proud mountains, demon brothers, and a stubborn river goddess. He must use his wisdom to overcome every obstacle.
