Andavan Kattalai(1964)
'Andavan Kattalai' (1964) is a Tamil-language drama film directed by K. Shankar. It stars Sivaji Ganesan in a dual role as Professor Krishnan and Moorthy, alongside Devika, A. V. M. Rajan, and Pushpalatha. The story follows a disciplined professor whose life unravels after he falls for a student. He loses his reputation, his mother, and his will to live. A dog's sacrifice inspires him to start over under a new identity. The film is loosely adapted from the German film 'The Blue Angel'. It was produced by P. S. Veerappa under PSV Pictures. The soundtrack by Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy became popular. The film received positive reviews for its performances and emotional depth. It was released on 12 June 1964.

Storyline
Professor Krishnan is a strict, honest man who follows 'Duty First'. He believes marriage is a distraction. A young student named Radha seduces him. He loses everything when she disappears in an accident. Blamed and shunned, he tries to end his life. A dog's sacrifice gives him a second chance. He rebuilds his life as Moorthy. But the past comes back to test him again.
