Trivia
- The film is a remake of the 1981 Tamil film 'Thillu Mullu', which itself was a remake of the 1978 Hindi film 'Gol Maal'.
- Sridevi performed her own stunts in the action scenes, including the famous fight sequence in the bar.
- The film's climax was shot in a real palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan, adding to its grand visual appeal.
- Anupam Kher played a dual role as twin brothers, matching Sridevi's dual role, which is rare in Hindi cinema.
- The song 'Na Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai' was originally composed for another film but was reused here after its initial rejection.
- Sunny Deol and Rajinikanth were both considered for the male lead before the role went to Rajesh Khanna.
- The film was a box office success and won Sridevi the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her dual performance.
