Daata is a 1989 Indian Hindi-language action drama film directed and produced by Sultan Ahmed. The cast includes Shammi Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Padmini Kolhapure, Suresh Oberoi, Prem Chopra, Ranjeet, and Amrish Puri. The story follows a schoolteacher who writes a book about world religions and is honored by the President. His life collapses when fake gold destroys his daughter's marriage, leading to her suicide and his death. His son becomes a bandit to seek revenge. The film was a major box office success, ranking as the fifth highest-grossing Hindi film of 1989. It was released on 30 June 1989.

Storyline
A respected schoolteacher's life falls apart when fake gold ruins his daughter's marriage. His daughter kills herself, and he dies of shock. His son becomes a bandit and swears revenge on the wealthy man who destroyed their family. A police officer who was the teacher's friend must stop the son before it is too late.
