• They only shared screen space for the first time in 1983's Souten — nearly 20 years into both their careers. The director, Saawan Kumar Tak, deliberately paired them as the two contrasting husbands in a love triangle, betting on Pran's fatherly gravitas against Prem Chopra's slick menace.
• In Souten, Pran played the calm, suffering husband while Prem Chopra played the aggressive, possessive one. Chopra later admitted that Pran's stillness on set forced him to dial down his own usual bombast — making their confrontation scenes feel more real than theatrical.
• Despite playing rivals on screen, the two were genuinely warm off camera. Prem Chopra once recalled that Pran would personally bring him tea between shots on the sets of Souten, telling him, 'You're the younger brother here, let me take care of you.'
