Trivia

  • The film's director Umesh Mehra was also known for directing the 1985 action film 'All Rounder' starring Mithun Chakraborty.
  • Avinash was one of the few 1980s Bollywood films where the hero, played by Raj Kiran, is introduced as a club singer and dancer rather than a more typical action-hero role.
  • The plot device of a character losing memory after a head injury was a recurring theme in several mid-80s Hindi films, like 'Meri Jung' (1985) and 'Aaj Ka Arjun' (1990).
  • Actress Madhavi, who played a key female lead, was primarily known for South Indian films and this was one of her relatively fewer prominent Hindi movie roles during that period.
  • The film's soundtrack, composed by Bappi Lahiri, included the song 'Dil Mera Toda' sung by Kishore Kumar, which became moderately popular.
  • Despite its action-crime genre, the movie performed poorly at the box office and is not widely remembered among major hits of 1986.
  • The narrative features two separate women (Nisha and Alka) claiming a relationship with the amnesiac hero, a dramatic twist common in melodramas of the era.
