• They first shared screen space in Kranti (1981), a massive multi-starrer directed by Manoj Kumar. Prem Chopra played the villain, Tom Alter played a British officer — and they had exactly one scene together. That one scene convinced Chopra to recommend Alter for Bond 303 four years later.
• In Bond 303 (1985), Chopra played the villain and Alter played a spy. Chopra later said in an interview that Alter was the only co-star who could match his intensity in a stare-down without blinking. They shot the climax face-off in one take because neither would break eye contact first.
• Despite playing enemies on screen, Chopra and Alter were close friends off it. They had a running joke: every time they finished a film together, they'd go eat butter chicken at a specific dhaba in Juhu. That tradition lasted from Kranti (1981) all the way to Honour Killing (2014).
