Storyline

- The film's title 'Mard' was inspired by a popular 1979 song of the same name by Pakistani singer Alamgir.
- Amitabh Bachchan performed many of his own stunts, including a risky scene where he hangs from a helicopter.
- The movie was partly shot in a real fort in Rajasthan to make the prison scenes look more authentic.
- Manmohan Desai used a special camera technique to make Amitabh Bachchan look taller than the villain in some scenes.
