Ek Duuje Ke Liye is a 1981 Indian Hindi romantic tragedy film directed by K. Balachander. It stars Kamal Haasan in his Bollywood debut and Rati Agnihotri as a pair of lovers from different cultural backgrounds. The film follows Vasu, a Tamil man, and Sapna, a North Indian woman, who fall in love despite their families' bitter opposition. Their families force them into a one-year separation, leading to misunderstandings, violence, and a tragic ending. The film is a remake of Balachander's own Telugu film Maro Charitra (1978). Storyline
