• For 'Lovers' (1983), Rakesh Bedi was a relative newcomer. Satyendra Kapoor, already a seasoned character actor, personally recommended Bedi to the director after they shared a train compartment and Bedi narrated a joke that had the whole bogey in splits.
• In 'Naaka Bandi' (1990), Kapoor would deliberately flub his lines during rehearsals to make Bedi laugh. Bedi’s real, unscripted laughter became the take they used — Kapoor said it made the comedy feel alive.
