
Pattinapakkam(2018)
Pattinapakkam (transl. Starvation) is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language thriller film written and directed by Jayadev. The film stars Kalaiyarasan and Anaswara Kumar in lead roles, with Chaya Singh, Manoj K. Jayan, Yog Japee, John Vijay, M. S. Bhaskar, and Charle in supporting roles. The story follows Vetri, a poor engineering graduate in Chennai who refuses a regular job and hatches a plan for quick money. His actions attract the attention of police commissioner DC Sathyaseelan and loan shark Samuthiram, triggering a chain of events that destroys innocent lives. The film is a remake of the Malayalam movie Ee Adutha Kalathu. It received negative reviews from critics for its sluggish pacing and lack of clarity. The film was released in theatres on 23 November 2018 by Sony Pictures India.

Storyline
Vetri is a poor engineering graduate in Chennai who wants to get rich fast. He refuses to take a normal job and comes up with a risky plan. But his plan goes wrong, and he becomes the target of a ruthless police commissioner and a dangerous loan shark. His actions destroy the lives of innocent people, and Vetri must face the consequences of his greed.
