Kathavarayan is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by Salangai Durai. It stars Karan, Vidisha Srivastava, and Vadivelu in lead roles. The story follows a bootlegger in Hogenakkal who gets arrested by a student activist, then later rescues her from drug peddlers in Chennai. The film features music composed by Srikanth Deva and cinematography by A. Karthik Raja. Vadivelu won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Comedian for his performance. The film was released on 30 May 2008 by Silver Jubilee Films.

Storyline
