• Vadivelu and Ilavarasu first shared screen space in Eera Nilam (2003) because director S. A. Chandrasekhar specifically wanted a comic duo that could also handle emotional weight — he paired them as brothers in the film, a casting gamble that paid off.
• In Madhurey (2004), Vadivelu’s manic improvisation forced Ilavarasu to play the straight man with deadpan restraint — Ilavarasu later said in an interview that he had to 'hold back every laugh' to keep the scene grounded, which made their banter land harder.
