Thalai Nagaram(2006)
Thalai Nagaram is a 2006 Tamil-language gangster action film directed by Suraj. The film stars Sundar C in his lead acting debut alongside Jyothirmayi, with Vadivelu, Prakash Raj, and K. S. Ravikumar in supporting roles. Set in North Chennai, the story follows Subramaniam alias Right, a ruthless rowdy who works for the local don Qaasim Bhai. After falling in love with a college student named Divya, Right attempts to leave the underworld but faces opposition from a corrupt police officer and his former boss. The film is an unofficial remake of the 1991 Malayalam film Abhimanyu. It received mixed reviews from critics but performed well at the box office, collecting a distributor share of Rs 4 to 5 crores. The film gained a cult following and inspired a spin-off titled Naai Sekar Returns in 2022, focusing on Vadivelu's popular character. Thalai Nagaram was released on 19 May 2006.

Storyline
Subramaniam, known as Right, is a feared gangster in North Chennai. He works as the right-hand man of the local don Qaasim Bhai. When a college student named Divya enters his life, Right falls in love and wants to leave his violent past behind. But a corrupt police officer and his former boss refuse to let him go, forcing him into a final deadly confrontation.
