• Vadivelu and Mayilsamy first shared screen space in Kannukku Kannaga (2000), but the pairing almost didn't happen. Director K. Selva Bharathy initially wanted a different comedian for Mayilsamy's role; Vadivelu personally insisted on bringing his friend in, and the director agreed after a test scene.
• In Thalai Nagaram (2006), Vadivelu played the fast-talking, chaotic sidekick while Mayilsamy played the slow, deadpan foil. Their rhythm worked because Mayilsamy deliberately paused an extra beat after Vadivelu's punchlines, letting the audience catch up before delivering his own dry retort.
• The success of their double-act in Rendu (2006) directly inspired director R. Sundarrajan to cast them again in Nenjil Jil Jil (2006) — the same year. That film's comedy track became a template for later buddy-comedian pairings in Tamil cinema, like Vivek-Oram Poochi and Sathish-Robinson.
