• Manobala cast Bose Venkat in Thalai Nagaram (2006) after seeing him in a small role in a TV serial. Bose was so nervous on the first day that Manobala had to sit him down and walk through every line with him.
• In Sadhurangam (2011), Manobala wrote a long monologue for Bose Venkat's character. Bose delivered it in one take, and Manobala kept the camera rolling for an extra 30 seconds just to capture his breathing. That silence became the scene's most talked-about moment.
• Tenaliraman (2014) was a spoof of historical epics. Its success directly inspired a wave of low-budget parody films in Tamil cinema over the next two years, including a direct sequel attempt that never materialized.
• Manobala and Bose Venkat had a standing rule: no matter how bad the shoot day went, they'd share a cup of tea together before leaving the set. They did this on all five films, even on Dharma Prabhu (2019) when the producer was furious about budget overruns.
• Bose Venkat once said in an interview: 'Manobala sir never gave me a script. He'd just say the scene's mood and let me find the character. I trusted him blindly, and he never let me fall.'
• On Engalukku Veru Kilaigal Kidaiyathu (2015), Manobala deliberately wrote a scene where Bose Venkat had to react without any dialogue for four minutes. Bose later admitted it was the hardest thing he'd ever done, but Manobala insisted it was the only way to make the comedy land.
