Trivia

  • The film's title 'Nenjirukkum Varai' translates to 'Until the Heart Stops', which directly reflects the life-and-death theme of the story.
  • This was one of the few films where actor Nakul worked under veteran director S. A. Chandrasekhar, known for launching many stars.
  • The movie's soundtrack by composer Vidyasagar included a hit romantic duet, 'Kadhal Vandhale', sung by Karthik and Chinmayi.
  • Actress Reemma Sen, who played Bhuvana, was a popular leading lady in Tamil cinema at the time but took a break from acting soon after.
  • The film's plot of a poor boy loving a rich girl is a classic trope, but the accident twist added a medical drama element uncommon for such stories.
  • It was released during a period when many Tamil films were experimenting with urban romance stories set in college or city environments.
  • The movie did not perform strongly at the box office, which was a setback for the lead actor Nakul's career at that time.
