Trivia
- The film's title 'Attagasam' is a Tamil word meaning 'duality' or 'double role', reflecting the twin brothers' story.
- Director Saran initially planned to cast a different actor for the villain role but chose Prakash Raj after seeing his performance in 'Ghilli'.
- The movie's climax fight scene was shot in a specially constructed set resembling a temple ruin, which took over 20 days to build.
- A.R. Rahman composed the background score but did not do the songs; the soundtrack was by Srikanth Deva, marking a shift from Saran's usual composers.
- The film was partially inspired by the 1993 Hindi film 'Tahqiqaat', which also featured twin brothers separated in childhood.
- Despite mixed reviews, the movie had a strong opening weekend in Tamil Nadu due to Ajith Kumar's star power at the time.
- A real driving school in Chennai was used for filming scenes involving Jeeva's character as a driving instructor.
