Trivia
- The film's title 'Jay Jay' is a common Tamil phrase meaning 'victory', but here it's also a play on the lead characters' names Jagan and Jamuna.
- The movie's plot device of a message on a currency note was inspired by a real-life urban legend about such notes circulating and connecting people.
- Actress Reema Sen, who played Jamuna, was simultaneously shooting for another major 2003 film, 'Anbe Sivam', during this production.
- The soundtrack by Vidyasagar became popular, with the song 'Kadhal Vandhuchu' achieving significant airplay on local radio stations.
- Director Saran originally planned a different climax but changed it during filming to make the reunion more dramatic for the audience.
- This was one of the early Tamil films to prominently feature lengthy, casual conversation scenes between the lead pair, mimicking real-life dating.
- The film's modest box office performance led the director to shift temporarily to more action-oriented scripts for his subsequent projects.
