• Manobala and Thalaivasal Vijay first shared screen space in Nandhini (1997), but the film tanked so badly (1/10) that nobody expected them to work together again. It took 16 years before they reunited in Puthagam (2013).
• In Kalaivendhan (2015), their only film together that scored above 7/10, Manobala played the comic relief while Thalaivasal Vijay played the stern father. The tension between their styles — Manobala's slapstick timing vs Vijay's deadpan delivery — created the film's best scenes.
