• Their first film together, Poovizhi Raja (1988), almost didn't happen. Director R. Sundarrajan originally cast Senthil in a small role, but Nassar — already a known face — insisted Senthil be given a meatier part. Senthil ended up stealing scenes as the comic sidekick, and the pair became a regular combo overnight.
• Nassar and Senthil had a unique rhythm: Nassar would deliver his lines with deadpan seriousness, and Senthil would undercut him with a quick, improvised punchline. In Sevagan (1992), Nassar's intense cop act got its comic relief entirely from Senthil's timing — they never stepped on each other's beats.
• Their pairing in Kolangal (1995) directly inspired the trend of pairing a serious hero with a comic sidekick who had his own emotional arc. Later films like Friends (1999) and Winner (2003) borrowed this template, but Kolangal was the one that proved audiences would buy a hero-comic duo with equal screen time.
• Off-screen, Nassar and Senthil were close friends who often stayed in the same hotel room during outdoor shoots. Senthil once said in a 2005 interview that Nassar would wake him up at 5 AM to rehearse dialogues, even if they weren't shooting until noon.
