Trivia
- This was the first film directed by K.S. Ravikumar, who later became famous for blockbusters like 'Padayappa' and 'Muthu'.
- The film's plot about terminally ill friends on a final journey is similar to the 1990 Malayalam film 'Mazhavilkavadi', which also starred Mohanlal.
- Actor Vivek, known for his comedy, played a serious and emotional role in this film, which was a departure from his usual style at the time.
- The movie was not a major commercial success, but it is remembered for its poignant theme and strong performances by the ensemble cast.
- The village antagonist named Sivalingam was a character type that director K.S. Ravikumar would later use more comically in films like 'Panchathanthiram'.
- The soundtrack by composer Ilaiyaraaja included a popular melancholic song 'Malargalil Adum', sung by S. Janaki.
- The film's title translates to 'A New Fresh Journey', reflecting the characters' decision to seek meaning in their remaining time.
