Trivia

  • The film was inspired by a real-life police recruitment drive in Andhra Pradesh that allowed open applications.
  • Director G. V. Sudhakar Naidu was known for low-budget films, and this was one of his few major releases.
  • Lead actress Priyamani, who played Krishnaveni, was already a National Award winner before this film.
  • The movie's climax was shot in the dense forests of Maredumilli to depict naxalite hideouts authentically.
  • It underperformed at the box office, partly due to competition from bigger Telugu films that year.
  • The soundtrack by Chakri included a folk-style song 'Chilakkalu' that gained some popularity on radio.
  • Actor Jagapati Babu's role as Radhakrishna was seen as an attempt to diversify from his usual romantic hero image.
