- Lead actress Priyamani, who played Krishnaveni, was already a National Award winner before this film.
- The movie's climax was shot in the dense forests of Maredumilli to depict naxalite hideouts authentically.
- It underperformed at the box office, partly due to competition from bigger Telugu films that year.
- The soundtrack by Chakri included a folk-style song 'Chilakkalu' that gained some popularity on radio.
- Actor Jagapati Babu's role as Radhakrishna was seen as an attempt to diversify from his usual romantic hero image.
