Srikanth was already a star, but Sangeetha was relatively new to Telugu — he specifically asked for her after seeing her work in Tamil, and she agreed because she wanted a strong comedy role.
• In 'Sankranthi' (2005), Srikanth played a loud, impulsive village guy while Sangeetha was the calm, sharp-witted city girl.
