• Kader Khan and Jagdeep first shared screen space in 'Ganga Aur Suraj' (1980) because the director, Ravikant Nagaich, needed a comic foil for Jagdeep's character. Jagdeep personally recommended Khan for the role after they bonded over a shared love for Urdu poetry on set.
• In 'Insaaf Ki Awaaz' (1986), Jagdeep would deliberately flub his lines to make Kader Khan laugh during takes. Khan then improvised new punchlines on the spot, turning every blooper into a usable gag. The director kept the camera rolling because the unscripted banter was funnier than the written script.
• During the shoot of 'Sherni' (1988), Jagdeep would cook biryani at his home and bring it to the set for Kader Khan every Friday. Khan later said that ritual was the only reason he agreed to do the film — the script was weak, but the biryani was unbeatable.
• Kader Khan once told a film magazine: 'Jagdeep and I never rehearsed. We just looked at each other and knew what the other would say. That's why our scenes felt like a real conversation, not a performance.'
• Their comic timing in 'Ganga Aur Suraj' (1980) was so well-received that the film's producer, K.C. Bokadia, cast them together again in 'Insaaf Ki Awaaz' (1986) specifically to recreate that magic. Bokadia later admitted he greenlit the second film just to get the duo back on screen.
