• Radha was the bigger star when they first paired in Pakkathu Veetu Roja (1982). S. S. Chandran was still finding his footing. She reportedly insisted the director cast him opposite her after seeing his comic timing in a stage play.
• In Uzhavan Magan (1987), Chandran's deadpan delivery made Radha break character mid-scene. The director kept the take because her genuine laugh fit the moment. That scene is still shared on Tamil meme pages.
• During the shoot of Manaivi Oru Manickam (1990), Radha and Chandran would rehearse their lines in a mix of Tamil and English. Chandran later said it was the only time he felt completely relaxed on set.
