• They first shared screen space in 'Umar 55 Ki Dil Bachpan Ka' (1992) because the director needed two actors who could play middle-aged men acting like teenagers. Kher and Talsania were both in their late 30s at the time, so they got the parts by default — no one younger wanted to wear grey hair.
• In 'Hum Hain Kamaal Ke' (1993), Kher played the straight-laced foil while Talsania did all the physical comedy. Talsania once said in an interview that Kher would deliberately flub his lines to make him laugh during takes, and the director kept those blooper takes in the final cut.
• Kher and Talsania were neighbours in Mumbai's Lokhandwala complex during the 90s. They carpooled to the sets of 'Pehla Pehla Pyar' (1994) every morning, and Talsania would bring homemade thepla for Kher because he knew Kher's mother was out of town.
• "Tiku is the only actor who can make me break character. We'd be in the middle of a serious scene and he'd just raise one eyebrow — I'd lose it. 'Papa Kehte Hai' took two extra days because of us." — Anupam Kher, in a 1996 Filmfare interview.
• Their double-act in 'Hum Hain Kamaal Ke' (1993) directly inspired the comic duo track in the 1997 Govinda-Karisma hit 'Hero No. 1' — the writer admitted in a trade magazine that he lifted the 'two old fools chasing young girls' gag from their film.
