• Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao was a veteran character actor who had been in the industry for decades. Sunil, then a rising comedian, specifically requested him for the role of the comedic sidekick in 'Anandamanandamaye' (2004) — he felt only Rao's timing could match his own frantic energy.
• In 'Andala Ramudu' (2006), Sunil would deliberately slow down his delivery in scenes with Rao. He said Rao's deadpan reactions needed space to land — so Sunil would pause an extra beat before his punchline, letting Rao's face do the work first.
