• Vivek was actually cast in Sivaji (2007) before Nayantara. He had already shot a few scenes when the producers decided to bring her in as the female lead. Their first scene together was shot without any rehearsal — director Shankar just told them to go with the flow.
• In Viswasam (2019), Vivek deliberately slowed down his comic timing to match Nayantara's more grounded performance. He told the director that if he went full speed, her character would look like a straight man — so he let her set the emotional rhythm of their scenes together.
• During the Bigil (2019) shoot, Nayantara would bring homemade Kerala snacks to set every Friday. Vivek, who is famously health-conscious, would only eat them if she promised to join him for a walk after pack-up. They did this for the entire 80-day schedule.
• Their pairing in Sivaji (2007) directly inspired director S. Shankar to cast them again in a cameo for his next film — but that never materialized. Instead, the success of that one film made producers actively seek out 'Vivek-Nayantara combo' scripts for nearly a decade.
• Nayantara once said in a 2019 interview: 'Vivek sir is the only co-star who made me laugh so hard during a serious scene that we had to cut. He'd whisper the next line in my ear and I'd lose it. He knew exactly how to break me.'
• In Kaashmora (2016), Vivek improvised an entire 3-minute monologue about Nayantara's character's saree — none of it was in the script. She responded by staying completely silent, letting his words land. The director kept the take because her stillness made his comedy hit harder.
