• Delhi Ganesh was already a respected character actor when he was cast opposite Madhuri in 'Manithan' (1987). But the pairing almost didn't happen — the director initially wanted a younger, more romantic lead. Ganesh convinced him by pointing out that the script needed a fatherly figure who could also play the lover, and Madhuri backed him up on set.
• In 'Kalicharan' (1988), Madhuri deliberately slowed down her dialogue delivery to match Delhi Ganesh's measured, deliberate style. She later told a magazine that she learned to 'listen with her eyes' while acting opposite him — a technique she carried into her later films.
• During the shoot of 'En Veedu En Kanavar' (1990), Delhi Ganesh would bring homemade snacks for the entire crew every Friday.
