'Samsaram Adhu Minsaram' is a 1986 Indian Tamil-language drama film produced by AVM Productions and directed by Visu. The ensemble cast includes Lakshmi, Chandrasekhar, Raghuvaran, Delhi Ganesh, Manorama, and Visu himself. Set in a middle-class joint family in Madras, the story follows the conflict between a strict father and his eldest son over money and respect. The film explores how a family splits and slowly heals through the efforts of the wise daughter-in-law Uma. It won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, becoming the first Tamil film to achieve this honour. The film was a commercial success, running for 25 weeks in theatres, and was remade in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Storyline
Ammaiyappan Mudaliar struggles to keep his joint family together on a small salary. When his eldest son Chidambaram refuses to contribute money, Ammaiyappan draws a line dividing the house. The family splits into two warring sides. Only the eldest daughter-in-law Uma can heal the wounds and bring them back together.
