• Prabhu and Sivachandran first shared screen space in Vellai Roja (1983) because director A. Jagannathan needed a pair of brothers who looked like they could actually be related. He cast them specifically for their similar build and voice — and it worked so well that audiences assumed they were real-life siblings.
• In Anbe Odivaa (1984), Prabhu played the impulsive younger brother while Sivachandran played the calm, responsible elder. Sivachandran would deliberately slow down his dialogue delivery to let Prabhu's energy pop — a rhythm they kept for all eight films.
• During the shoot of Needhiyin Nizhal (1985), Prabhu and Sivachandran shared a room in a small lodge in Tenkasi. Every night, Sivachandran would rehearse the next day's lines aloud, and Prabhu would fall asleep listening — he later said it was his 'acting school'.
• Sivachandran once said in a 1990s interview: 'Prabhu and I never had a single fight on set. We didn't need to talk much — we just knew when to step back and let the other shine.'
• Their pairing in Anand (1987) — a film that bombed hard with a 1/10 rating — actually inspired director K. Bhagyaraj to cast them again in En Uyir Kannamma (1988) as a comic duo. That film's success led to a brief trend of 'brother acts' in late-80s Tamil cinema.
• After Ratha Dhanam (1988), they never made another film together. No fallout — just drifted apart as careers took different turns. But in 2015, when Sivachandran was hospitalized, Prabhu was the first actor to visit him, unannounced, at 6 AM.
