• Manjula Vijayakumar was already a star when she recommended Latha for a key role in Ulagam Sutrum Valiban (1973). The director M.G.R. trusted her call, and that film became Latha's big break.
• In Netru Indru Naalai (1974), Manjula played the mature, grounded sister while Latha played the bubbly younger one. Manjula deliberately slowed her delivery to let Latha's energy pop — a trick she taught her on set.
• During the shoot of Ninaithadhai Mudippavan (1975), the two shared a small room in a lodge in Kodaikanal for three weeks. They'd rehearse lines at night and cook instant noodles together because the hotel food was terrible.
• Their pairing in Naalai Namadhe (1975) was so popular that the producer immediately greenlit a spin-off comedy track featuring just the two of them — but the project never materialized because Latha quit films soon after.
