Latha (born Nalini, 7 June 1953) is a Tamil actress from the Sethupathi royal family of Ramnad, Tamil Nadu, who was one of the leading heroines of Tamil cinema in the 1970s and early 1980s, appearing in over 100 films across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam industries. She debuted in Ulagam Sutrum Valiban (1973) opposite M. G. Ramachandran and went on to star in acclaimed films including Annakili (1976), Ninaithadhai Mudippavan (1975), and Aayiram Jenmangal (1978) alongside Rajinikanth, becoming one of only two actresses (along with Lakshmi) to be paired with both MGR and Rajinikanth during that era. She received a Filmfare Award for Vattathukkal Sadhuram and was honored with the Kalaimamani Award by the Tamil Nadu State Government for lifetime achievement in Tamil cinema. She retired from films in 1983 after her marriage but returned to the screen via television serials from 2002 onwards.
