• Saritha was already a star when she signed Kizhvanam Sivakkum (1981), but Mukta V. Srinivasan was a newcomer. She personally asked the director to cast him after seeing his screen test — she felt he had the right 'rawness' for her character's husband.
• In Sigappu Suriyan (1983), Saritha deliberately slowed down her dialogue delivery to match Mukta's hesitant, naturalistic style. The director later said that her patience made him look like a brooding hero instead of a nervous debutant.
• Iru Medhaigal (1984) was the first Tamil film to use a single continuous take for a 12-minute marital argument scene. That technique was directly inspired by how Saritha and Mukta rehearsed the scene for three days without cuts — they wanted the fight to feel real, not edited.
• On the sets of all three films, Saritha and Mukta had a private ritual: before every emotional scene, they would sit silently for two minutes, holding hands. Mukta later said it was her idea — to 'sync their breathing' so their arguments felt like two people who actually knew each other.
