• Ravichandran was a newcomer when he was cast opposite Rajasree in 'Nal Varavu' (1964). She was already a star. The director picked him because he looked like a 'regular guy' next to her glamour — and that contrast became their whole thing.
• In 'Nimirndhu Nil' (1968), Rajasree’s character is the one who drives the plot forward. Ravichandran plays reactive, almost passive. He later admitted she set the emotional pace in their scenes — he just followed her lead.
• 'Singapore Seeman' (1969) was one of the first Tamil films to shoot extensively in Southeast Asia. The location-hopping trend it started — think 'Ooty' and 'Kashmir' songs — directly inspired later masala films like 'Muthu' (1995).
• They never dated or married, but Rajasree once said in an interview that Ravichandran was the only co-star who'd call her before every shoot to ask if she needed anything from the canteen. She called it 'his weird ritual'.
• Ravichandran said about Rajasree: 'She made me look like a hero. Without her, I was just a tall guy reading lines.' He said this in a 1979 magazine interview, looking back at their 8-film run.
• In 'Iravu 12 Mani' (1978), their last film together, they played a married couple under suspicion. The director let them improvise the kitchen argument scene. It runs 7 minutes — no cuts. That raw back-and-forth is why fans still call it their best work.
