• Rohini and Revathi first worked together in 'Marupadiyum' (1993) because director K. S. Ravikumar specifically wanted two actresses who could carry a film without a male lead. He cast them after seeing their individual work in parallel roles — Rohini in 'Chinna Gounder' and Revathi in 'Thevar Magan'.
• In 'Magalir Mattum' (1994), Rohini and Revathi played off each other's strengths: Revathi set the emotional pace with her natural gravitas, while Rohini brought the comic timing. Rohini later said Revathi would deliberately slow down her dialogue delivery so Rohini could land her punchlines better.
• During the shoot of 'Thotta Chinungi' (1995), Rohini and Revathi shared a room in a small lodge near the Kerala border.
