• Rajesh was already a star when Sujatha was cast opposite him in Alaya Deepam (1984). But she was so nervous on day one that she flubbed every line. Rajesh stopped the shoot, took her aside, and told her to just say the lines like she was talking to her brother. That broke the ice.
• In Uthami (1985), Rajesh deliberately slowed down his usual fast-paced dialogue delivery to match Sujatha's more measured rhythm. He told the director that if he rushed, the scene would feel like a race. The result was a tense, quiet courtroom sequence that became the film's highlight.
• During the shoot of Mannukkul Vairam (1986), Sujatha's mother fell ill. Rajesh quietly arranged for a car to take her to the hospital and covered the medical bills. Sujatha found out only years later from a crew member. She never got to thank him properly.
• Sujatha once said in a 1990s interview: 'Rajesh made me feel like I was the only person in the frame. He never acted at me — he acted with me. That's rare.'
• The success of Alaya Deepam (1984) directly led to director R. Sundarrajan casting Sujatha in his next big hit — and that film launched a whole new phase in her career. Rajesh had personally recommended her to Sundarrajan after seeing her work ethic on set.
