• They first shared screen space in LOC Kargil (2003), but their real pairing was accidental. Ajay was originally not cast opposite Esha in Yuva (2004). Director Mani Ratnam saw them together in a scene and decided to build their romantic track on the spot.
• In Kaal (2005), Ajay deliberately slowed down his usual intense delivery to match Esha's more hesitant, scared rhythm. He told her to keep her fear real — that made her character's panic feel raw, not acted.
