• Soundarya was already a star when she agreed to do 'Super Police' (1994), but Chalapathi Rao was still finding his footing. She personally asked the director to cast him as her hero after seeing his work in a small role — she thought he had the right intensity for the cop drama.
• In 'Sri Ramulayya' (1999), Chalapathi Rao played a rustic, volatile lover while Soundarya played the grounded village belle. The trick was that he set the emotional pace — he'd go loud and impulsive — and she'd pull him back with a single look. That push-pull made their scenes feel real.
• On the sets of 'Ninne Premista' (2000), Soundarya and Chalapathi Rao had a running joke: every time a scene required them to cry, they'd challenge each other to finish first. Whoever blinked or laughed first had to buy lunch for the entire crew. Soundarya lost most bets.
