• Nagesh was already a comedy star when they made Ezhai Pangalan (1963), but Pushpalatha was a newcomer. He personally asked director M. A. Thirumugam to cast her, vouching for her talent after seeing her in a stage play.
• In Pachai Vilakku (1964), Nagesh played a blind man and Pushpalatha played his wife. He deliberately slowed down his comic timing to match her more naturalistic, restrained style — making their scenes together feel painfully real instead of funny.
• After Veettukku Vandha Marumagal (1973), they never worked together again. But Pushpalatha later said in an interview that Nagesh would call her every year on her birthday, even after his health declined.
