• Sunil Shetty personally convinced Amitabh Bachchan to sign Kaante (2002) by flying to meet him with the script. Bachchan was hesitant about the ensemble cast, but Shetty's persistence sealed the deal.
• In Kaante, Bachchan deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery to match Shetty's more measured, intense style. Shetty later said this made their face-off scenes feel like a real standoff, not a rehearsed performance.
• During the shoot of Kyun...! Ho Gaya Na (2004), Bachchan would call Shetty every morning to discuss the day's scenes. Shetty later admitted he was nervous acting opposite a legend, and those calls were Bachchan's way of calming him down without making it obvious.
