• They first met on the set of Deedar (1992), but Akshay almost didn't get the role. The director wanted a bigger name, but Karisma personally pushed for him after seeing his audition tape. She told the press later, 'I saw something raw in him.'
• On the sets of Sapoot (1996), Akshay would deliberately mess up his lines to make Karisma laugh during serious scenes. She'd then improvise a comeback, and the director kept those takes because the banter felt real. That's why their fights in the film crackle — they were actually ribbing each other.
• Their pairing in Dil To Pagal Hai (1997) directly inspired Yash Chopra to cast them again in a romantic subplot for a shelved project. That never happened, but the film's success made Karisma the first actress to win a Filmfare for a supporting role — a career shift she credits to Akshay's 'generous screen presence' in an interview.
• During the shoot of Jaanwar (1999), Akshay and Karisma had a running bet: whoever flubbed a dialogue first had to buy lunch for the entire crew. Karisma lost 11 times in a row. She later joked she 'kept losing on purpose because his cooking stories were better than the canteen food.'
