• Their first film together, Jeena Marna Tere Sang (1992), was originally offered to another actress. Raveena was a newcomer, and Sanjay Dutt personally recommended her to the director after seeing her screen test. He told the team she had the 'fire' the role needed.
• In Aatish (1994), Sanjay Dutt deliberately slowed down his usual aggressive delivery in their confrontation scenes. He told Raveena on set that he wanted her to 'win' the arguments on screen, because he felt her intensity made the scenes more believable. She set the emotional pace; he followed.
• During the shoot of Zamane Se Kya Darna (1994), Sanjay Dutt would bring Raveena homemade biryani from his mother's kitchen every Friday. She later said it was the only thing that got her through the grueling outdoor schedules in Ooty.
• Their pairing in Jung (1996) directly inspired the casting of the 1999 hit 'Daag: The Fire'. The director of Daag admitted in an interview that he wanted to recreate the 'raw, street-smart couple energy' that Raveena and Sanjay had in Jung, and specifically cast them again because of it.
• Raveena Tandon once said in a 2017 interview: 'Sanju and I never had to rehearse. We'd just look at each other and know what the other was going to do. He made me fearless in action scenes. I made him laugh in serious ones.'
• After Dus (1997) was shelved mid-production, the two didn't speak for nearly two years. Raveena later revealed it was because Sanjay felt she had 'abandoned' the project. They only patched things up in 2000 on the sets of Khauff, when he walked up to her and said, 'Let's finish what we started.'
