• They first worked together in Mazdoor (1983) because Raj Babbar personally requested director Ravi Chopra to cast Rati Agnihotri opposite him. He had seen her in a magazine and felt her 'girl-next-door' look would balance his intense, working-class character.
• In Rishta Kagaz Ka (1983), Rati’s character was the emotional anchor — she would slow down her dialogue delivery to match Raj’s deliberate, brooding pauses. That rhythm made their arguments feel like real couple fights, not scripted scenes.
• During the shoot of Main Awara Hoon (1983), Rati would bring homemade snacks for the crew every Friday. Raj Babbar later admitted in an interview that he started looking forward to those Fridays more than the scenes — because she made sure he ate something before the long night shoots.
